An Independent Education
At The Academy of Arts & Sciences, we are proud to offer an independent, non-sectarian education for children in pre-school (age 3) through 3rd grade. While standards of excellence in teaching and learning are central to our mission, we accept the responsibility entrusted to us by parents to provide a rigorous and challenging educational program, a caring and nurturing environment, and experiences that allow all students to grow intellectually, socially, and educationally to their highest potential. Our basic values and beliefs are:
- Parents, students, and community are an integrated part of the educational process.
- Active and engaged learning reflect s multiple learning styles and stages of development in children.
- Instruction is delivered so that students discover their own strengths and gain confidence in their abilities to learn.
- The development of character (honesty, integrity, and respect) in each child leads to self-reliance and good decision making.
- Instructional techniques promote the child’s creativity, talent, and individuality.
- Our school community welcomes and encourages cultural diversity as a reflection of our society.
- All decisions made for the betterment of the school are based on the needs of our students and faculty.
