Beth Turner, Director & Kindergarten

Mrs. Turner brings to the Academy over 30 years of highly successful experience as an educator in the independent school system. She spent 12 of those years as a school administrator. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from The University of South Alabama in 1976. Mrs. Turner received a 20-year service award from AISA and a 25-year service award from Bayside Academy. She serves on the South Baldwin Children’s Foundation Board of Directors. She attends the National ECE Conference, the AISA Administrators Conference, along with additional AISA conferences, numerous day conferences and in-service activities. Her special interests include bicycle riding, boating, reading, and cooking.

Mrs. Bowden attended Auburn University in Montgomery. She received Property and Casualty Insurance Licenses. As the Executive Assistant to the Chairman of the Board, Mrs. Bowden’s responsibilities include serving as an Ex-Officio member of the South Baldwin Children’s Foundation, as well as, managing Accounts Payable and School Communications. She is a member of the Notary Public Underwriters Association. Mrs. Bowden was the chairman of the Academy Golf Tournament fundraiser.
Catina Saxon, Pre-School

Mrs. Saxon has been a volunteer and supporter of the Academy for a few years. She has joined the faculty this year in the Pre-School program. She has devoted a great deal of her time to assisting with various programs and substitute teaching. She has several years of experience working in early childhood education at other private schools and in church. As an official faculty member, Mrs. Saxon provides support and input to the Early Chilhood Division. As one parent stated . . . “Mrs. Saxon is a very creative and loving person. She is a gifted and gracious person and fully understands the wide variety of needs of children. Most of all, she sets high standards of care for all children. ”
Emily Chambliss, Pre-Kindergarten

Mrs. Chambliss received her B.S. Degree in Child Development and Family Studies from the University of Alabama. She and her husband have 2 children and are members of the United Methodist Church. She has served as the Past President of the United Women’s Lamplighters and Director of Bible School. Additionally, she has been involved with the CCA, Coastal Conservation Association for many years.

Caron Majors, Second & Third Grade

Mrs. Majors attended the University of Alabama and the University of West Florida where she majored in English. She has devoted her efforts and hard work to inspiring children to be avid readers and accomplished writers. Mrs. Majors is a member of Foley First Presbyterian Church, Friends of Foley Public Library, and the Bon Secour Chapter of NSDAR. In her spare time she enjoys reading, gardening, and her dog, Copper.

Ms. Robles attended the University of Florida where she received her B.A. Degree in Education and her M.S. Degree in Audiology. She is an accomplished Artist, Art Instructor, and exhibits multiple levels of talents in all art forms. She believes that every child is a creator of art and that their expressions, visions, and feelings are clearly shown in each piece . She is a member of Temple Beth El in Pensacola, Florida and the Magnolia Springs Community Association.
Brenda Bonner, Music & Extended Day

Mrs. Bonner majored in Elementary Education at Northeast Louisiana University and has provided leadership in the music and drama program. Well-known traditions at the Academy, such as the Pink Party, Holiday Program, and Grandparents’ Day Program, have been created by Mrs. Bonner and produced by the students. Her skills in teaching students to perform with joy, emotion and feeling are dynamic. Mrs. Bonner is the Treasurer for the Heart of God Church and the Treasurer for Woodland Point Homeowner’s Association. One of her many joys is teaching piano lessons.
Harry Keenan, Safety Patrol

Mr. Keenan attended the Air Force Institute of Technology where he majored in Logistic Support, Maintenance Planning, and Aircraft Acquisition. He is a member of the Fort Morgan Civic Association, Krewe of La Beau Geste Mystic Society and a Master Mason. Mr. Keenan says his hobby is “taking care of our Academy children every day.”
